Producer: Les Foulards Rouges (Jean-Francois Nicq)

Region: Albères, Roussillon, France

Wild Scale: 3/5

Vegan friendly wine

12.5% alcohol

Winemaking: Organic white grapes were harvested by hand. Direct press before fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Aged in tank for 4 months before bottling with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural white wine with a medium body. This is a dry and aromatic cuvée with an array of different fruits (orchard, stone, tropical) alongside expressive floral notes. Great to quench your thirst but also would work well with white fish.

Notes on the Winemaker: Les Foulards Rouge is the natural wine project of Jean-François Nicq in Montesquieu-des-Albères, Roussillon, right near the border with Spain. He grew up in Northern France but moved to this area after meeting natural winemaking legends such as Thierry Puzelat (Clos du Tue-Boeuf) and Eric Pfiffering (L'Anglore) who encouraged him to start his own path in the viticulture world. He loves making delicate and balanced wines that reflect the Pyrenees terroir.
