Winemaking: Organic Macabeo, Xarel Lo and Sumoll grapes were hand harvested and crushed by foot before spending 2 weeks on the skins. Fermented with indigenous yeast in concrete tanks and bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.  

This Wine: Natural orange wine made from a blend of white grapes and a splash of red Sumoll. Maybe our favourite vintage yet for this wine. It really reminded us of a biting into a green Starburst when we first tasted. Much more stable than previous iterations but by no means boring. The name means 'The Happy Farmer' in local dialect. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Toni Carbó is one half of the esteemed Cava house (with friend Ramon Jané), Mas Candí in Penedés. He started his own project La Salada with partner Anna Serra in 2012 to focus on making wines like his Grandfather used to. They are some of most sought after as they provide an authentic and honest expression of Catalan terroir.
