Winemaking: Organic Viognier grapes were sourced from Le Mazel. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Pressed into old barrels where the wine aged for 36 months. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural white wine with a wild character. More mineral driven with fruit taking a backseat. Some subtle spice and plenty of volatile acidity. Anders says this is the best vintage of this wine for many years and has waited to release it. Should be served with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Anders Frederick Steen & Anne Bruun Blauert hail from Denmark but settled in the Ardeche to focus on their winemaking dream in back in 2013. Since then they have become one of the most sought after names in the natural wine world. They produce wines that are honest and representative of this wild region. The pair don't look to recreate the same wine each vintage and instead adapt to whatever conditions a new year brings.
