Winemaking: Organic white grape varieties were hand harvested. The Montonec underwent direct press whilst the Xarel Lo and Macabeo were de-stemmed and macerated for 12 days. Fermented with indigenous yeast in concrete tank and bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Each year, El Pages Content (the Happy Farmer) Blanc represents La Salada's entry level white wine that is meant for easy, casual drinking. The blend of grapes changes each vintage as it reflects what has happened in the vineyard over the last 12 months. 2023 is showcases a more savoury character than previous iterations. Subtle citrus, green olives and minerals with a hint of hazelnut on the finish Great value wine from a top producer. Best shared with friends.
Notes on the Winemaker: Toni Carbó is one half of the esteemed Cava house (with friend Ramon Jané), Mas Candí in Penedés. He started his own project La Salada with partner Anna Serra in 2012 to focus on making wines like his Grandfather used to. They are some of most sought after as they provide an authentic and honest expression of Catalan terroir.
