This Wine: Once upon-a-time, the Aramon grape variety was the most widely planted in France. After falling out of favour, it is now hard to find but Thierry Forestier is one of a handful of natural winemakers championing its potential when grown in small yields. This is a light red wine with a great concentration of fresh fruit, spice and herbal notes. One of the best value natural wines around and great slightly chilled in the summer.
Notes on the Winemaker: Thierry Forestier and his wife Marie-Noëlle are located in the village of Souvignargues not too far from Nimes in the Languedoc. They have been making wine since 2004 and focus on amazing value reds that are light and fresh despite the warm climate down here. The inspiration for this style was after meeting Eric Pfifferling of Domaine L'Anglore.
