Winemaking: Organic Barbera grapes were harvested by hand and fermented in sandstone vessels (made by the winemaker) with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur. 

This Wine: Natural red wine with a full body but soft tannins. We've never tried a Barbera quite like this with so many herbaceous notes. As the name suggests, this comes from a cooler vineyard but what you experience here is totally ripe red wine with cooling green notes. Superb. Best served with food. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Fabio Gea farms just 1 hectare of vines in the famous region of Barbaresco. His cuvées are the antithesis of the industrial wine that now dominates Piedmont and he vinifies using a combination of glass, steel and porcelain that he makes himself. A unique and special winemaker.
