This Wine: Natural red wine with a complex and precise nature. Great, lifting acidity and fresh fruit is balanced perfectly by a darker, mineral side. Light to medium body with beautiful depth. An exciting new discovery from Hungary!
Notes on the Winemaker: Péter Nagyvárad is a young natural winemaker who farms just two hectares of Chardonnay, Furmint, Welschriesling and Kekfrankos (Blaufrankisch) on the volcanic soils around Lake Balaton. The focus is on reflecting the terroir of this part of Hungary so all vineyard work is organic and intevrention in the cellar is kept to a bare minimum. The results are delicate but concentrated wines that show incredible balance and purity.
