Cabernet Franc
Babiole 2020
Les P'tites Choses
Grape Variety: Cabernet Franc
Producer: Les P'tites Choses (Corentin Le Bolloch) (Domaine Autre Chose)
Region: Chemillé-en-Anjou, Loire, France
Wild Scale: 4/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Cabernet Franc grapes were harvested by hand before a 19 day whole bunch fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels. Bottled with no fining or filtration and just a touch of sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with medium to full body. The bigger brother of Bibelot. Complex flavours of black fruit, dried herbs and something cola-like! Tannins are present but soft. A warming wine that is best served with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Corentin moved from his home region of Brittany to Anjou in the Loire valley in order to pursue his dream of making natural wine. He works out of a cellar in Faye d'Anjou growing local varieties Cabernet Franc and Chenin. With his first vintage in 2019, it will be exciting to see what comes next.
