Winemaking: Organic Cabernet Franc grapes were harvested by hand before a 9 day carbonic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels. Bottled with no fining or filtration and just a touch of sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with a light, silky body. There is so much finesse going on here partnered with amazing intensity of fresh fruit on the palate. This is a very unassuming but rewarding wine. Amazing that it's Corentin's first vintage!
THIS WINE WAS SELECTED AS THE BEST TASTING BOTTLE BY DRINKERS AT A HIGHBURY LIBRARY WINE CLUB TASTING IN FEBRUARY 2023
Notes on the Winemaker: Corentin moved from his home region of Brittany to Anjou in the Loire valley in order to pursue his dream of making natural wine. He works out of a cellar in Faye d'Anjou growing local varieties Cabernet Franc and Chenin. With his first vintage in 2019, it will be exciting to see what comes next.
