Cabernet Franc
Franko 2024
Faedesfa
Grape Variety: Cabernet Franc
Producer: Faedesfa (Alberto Buratti)
Region: Rovolon, Colli Euganei, Veneto, Italy
Wild Scale: 4/5
12% alcohol
Winemaking: Organic Cabernet Franc grapes from 2 different plots were harvested by hand. Whole bunch carbonic maceration for 8 days. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged for 6 months in steel tanks before bottling with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine that is light in body but with a beautiful depth of vibrant fruit and a peppery finish. This cuvée is fast becoming a cult classic and it just keeps getting better with every vintage! It's delicate but has a nice complexity with a herbal note running throughout. Very fresh with a hint of spritz.
Notes on the Winemaker: Alberto Buratti farms just over 3 hectares of vines in the Colli Euganei region of Veneto. He grew up around these vineyards when his Grandfather worked them but it wasn't until 2019 that he took the plunge to take over full time. Now he works with local and international grape varieties that he grows organically and doesn't add anything in the winemaking process.
