Winemaking: Organic Carignan and Grenache grapes were harvested by hand. Whole bunch maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged for 8 months in old barrels before bottling with no fining, filtration or added sulphur. 

This Wine: Natural red wine with a medium body. Made from three plots of very old vines. Structured by ethereal. Beautiful complexity of fruit here such as plum, blackberry, dark cherries and more. Complex herbal and mineral finish. With that extra time in bottle this wine is really singing. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Les Foulards Rouge is the natural wine project of Jean-François Nicq in Montesquieu-des-Albères, Roussillon, right near the border with Spain. He grew up in Northern France but moved to this area after meeting natural winemaking legends such as Thierry Puzelat (Clos du Tue-Boeuf) and Eric Pfiffering (L'Anglore) who encouraged him to start his own path in the viticulture world. He loves making delicate and balanced wines that reflect the Pyrenees terroir.
