Winemaking: Organic Chenin Blanc grapes were hand harvested and underwent fermentation with indigenous yeast. No filtration, fining or added sulphur.  

This Wine: Rich and round Chenin from a difficult harvest where most of the vines were badly affected by frost. Fermentation was slow so marc was added to help finish the process. Agedin bottle for a few years and is now drinking wonderfully.

Notes on the Winemaker: Mai & Kenji Hodgson work 4 hectares of vines in Rablay-Sur-Layon. They met in Vancouver before studying winemaking in Japan, eventually settling in this area of the Loire valley. Their wines are impeccably made without any additions yet there is even more potential over the coming years.
