Winemaking: Organic Chenin Blanc grapes were hand harvested and underwent direct press into foudre for fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 10 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.  

This Wine: Natural white wine with a medium to full body. Rich and round, displaying all the qualities of Loire Chenin that we love. Apple, citrus and mineral, this wine ages wonderfully. Very much in the "if you know, you know" category. Best served with food.

Notes on the Winemaker: Philippe Delmee is situated in Anjou where he works with the famous varieties of the region, Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc as well as some Grolleau and Pineau D'Aunis. He is an under-the-radar winemaker who manages to find a balance between making more serious cuvées alongside gluggable, bistro style bottles. We have visited him a few times and always enjoy his musings whilst he plays some of his favourite records.
