Winemaking: Organic Chenin Blanc grapes from a single plot were hand harvested and underwent fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in combination of new and old barrels. No filtration, fining or added sulphur.  

This Wine: Natural white wine with a powerful and structured character balanced with and elegant and delicate side. As with all the wines of Mai & Kenji, this will keep improving inside the bottle for many years to come.

Notes on the Winemaker: Mai & Kenji Hodgson work 4 hectares of vines in Rablay-Sur-Layon. They met in Vancouver before studying winemaking in Japan, eventually settling in this area of the Loire valley. Their wines are impeccably made without any additions yet this is even more potential over the coming years.
