Winemaking: Organic Dornfelder grapes from 30 year old vines were harvested by hand. Direct press before fermentation with indigenous yeast in steel tanks. The wine was bottled before this process was complete in order to trap fizz inside the bottle (Ancestral winemaking technique - Pet Nat). Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural sparkling wine that drinks somewhere between a dark rosé and a light red. A Pet Nat full of wild, brambly fruit, crunchy red berries and dried herbs. Delicious and low in alcohol!  Only 2500 bottles produced.

Notes on the Winemaker: Christine Pieroth produces natural wine under the Piri Naturel name in the small German region of Nahe, just north of Rheinhessen. Her family have been involved in viticulture here since the 18th century where they are blessed with a complexity of different soil types that can produce a variety of wine styles.
