Winemaking: Organic grapes were harvested by hand and macerated before fermentation with indigenous yeast. The wine was bottled before this process was finished in order to trap fizz inside the bottle (Ancestral winemaking technique - Pet Nat). No fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: The 5th instalment of the Frauenpower series marries the dark fruit and herbal nature of red Dornfelder grapes with the zingy, citrus fruit from white Sylvaner grapes Pet Nat in a weighty and textured style, somewhat reminiscent of Lambrusco. Delicious.

Notes on the Winemaker: Alanna Lagamba is a young winemaker in Rheinhessen who is one half of the Marto project but is also producing Pet Nats under her own Vin de Lagamba labels. Originally from Canada, she worked in a natural wine bar in Berlin before moving to this part of Germany. She is a strong and energetic individual who brings these same qualities to her wines.
