Winemaking: Organic Gamay grapes from 50 to 80 year old vines were harvested by hand. Whole bunch, semi-carbonic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining or filtration and just a small amount of sulphur.

This Wine: High quality Gamay made with grapes from 4 different plots in the Ardeche but very close to the famous village of Saint Joseph in the Northern Rhône. The wine displays both the fruity nature of Gamay but with some smokey and dark characteristics that we associate with Syrah from this part of France. Complex and best served with food.

Notes on the Winemaker: Hervé Souhaut has been working vines on the both sides of the Northern Rhône / Ardèche border for over 30 years. Going against the classic style of the region, he enjoys creating wines of elegance and finesse that age very well.
