Winemaking: Organic Gamay d'Auvergne grapes from a single plot were harvested by hand. 8 day semi-carbonic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old oak barrels for 1 year. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with a light to medium body. Salty blackberries, ripe plums, peppery spice and dark minerals. Fresh, balanced acidity. Subtle floral notes bring further complexity. It feels like the perfect wine for Autumn.
Notes on the Winemaker: Pioneers of the modern Auvergne natural wine revival, Marie and Vincent Tricot moved from Beaujolais to Orcet in the early 2000s to cultivate volcanic basalt and limestone soils. Farming organically and bottling without added sulphites, their expressive Gamay d'Auvergne and Pinot Noir cuvées are celebrated for their vibrant, wild energy, crunchy dark fruit, and electric minerality. Pure, living wine at its most joyous.
