Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir & Gamay grapes from young vines were harvested by hand. Semi-carbonc maceration in whole bunches. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in cement tanks. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with a light to medium body. This is an easy drinking blend of the two local grape varieties. Some juicy fresh fruit is complemented by a mineral and floral edge. Very small quantities available.
Notes on the Winemaker: In 1988, Christian Venier began working 7 hectares of vines in the Cheverny appealltion of the Loire valley. He is cousin of Thierry Puzelat / Clos du Tue-Boeuf who is located near by. Christian's wines are precise but full of character thanks to his meticulous work in the vineyard and hands-off approach in the cellar.
