Garganega / Trebbiano
Monticelli Bianco di Rado 2021
Il Roccolo di Monticelli
Grape Variety: Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave
Producer: Il Roccolo di Monticelli (Silvia Tezza)
Region: Vallata di Mazzane, Verona, Veneto, Italy
Wild Scale: 4/5
Winemaking: Organic Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grapes were harvested by hand after spending 2 weeks longer on the vine than usual. Fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel and kept with the skins for 6 months. Aged in bottle for 2 years before release. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A natural orange wine that is only made in special years when the weather conditions are perfect and allow for extended ripening on the vine. Medium bodied with amazing concentration of ripe lemon, pineapple and apricot skin alongside dried herbs and spices. Best paired with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Silvia Tezza is a young winemaker in Veneto who studied agricultural science before becoming a winemaker in the hills of Valleta di Mazzane near Verona. She avoids adding anything in the winemaking process.
