Winemaking: Organic grapes Macabeo grapes were hand harvested before being crushed and macerated for 10 days. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur..
This Wine: Orange wine made with grapes from an abandoned plot that has now been ripped up. This cuvée was only made once and we managed to get our hands on some old bottles recently. A slice of Partida Creus history! Amazing complexity with interesting notes of orange blossom, clove and ginger. The wine shows more of a mineral and spice character that it does fruit. Unique.
Notes on the Winemaker: Partida Creus is the project of Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa, Italians who were working in Barcelona before moving to the remote village of Bonastre in search of a quieter life surrounded by nature. Here they began producing wine from old, almost extinct Catalan grape varieties such as Sumoll and uncovered ancient winemaking techniques by speaking to old winemakers in the area.
