Vegan friendly wine

Winemaking: Organic Malvasia grapes were harvested by hand and underwent fermentation with the skins for 4 days in open top vats. Transferred into old oak barrels where the wine aged for 2 years. No fining, filtration or added sulphur. 

This Wine: Powerful and intense orange wine from near Trieste but on the Slovenian side of the border. Aromas of orange marmalade, dried apricots, wild herbs and walnuts. This is a special and complex wine that is best served with food. Only 2000 bottles produced. 

Notes on the Winemaker: We fell in love with the wines of Uros Klabjan some years ago after being introduced to them by the importer during covid lockdown. The intensity and complexity of his black label range really gave us something to think about and provided a much needed escape. He works organically, very close to the Adriatic Sea which provides a maritime influence to this part of Slovenia.
