Mondeuse / Persan
La Deuse 2024
Partagé
Grape Variety: Mondeuse, Persan
Producer: Domaine Partagé (Gilles & Christine Berlioz)
Region: Chignin, Savoie, France
Wild Scale: 3/5
Vegan friendly wine
9.5% alcohol
Winemaking: Organic Mondeuse and Persan grapes were harvested by hand. Semi-carbonic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast in fibreglass tanks. No filtration or fining. Small amount of sulphur on bottling.
This Wine: Natural red wine, light in body but certainly not in flavour and intensity. Floral and peppery notes compliment the dark fruit wonderfully. Despite the low alcohol there is no. lack of ripeness on display here and the acid is balanced perfectly.
Notes on the Winemaker: Gilles and Christine Berlioz have been working organically in Savoie since the 90s around the area of Chignin. Biodynamic practises were later adopted as a way to produce finer and more precise wines that soon became iconic in France and further afield. The Domaine Partagé name reflects the collective spirit of the operation that has seen many faces come and lend a hand over the years.
