Winemaking: Organic Muscat grapes were harvested by hand. One third remained in whole bunches whilst the rest were de-stemmed. 12 day semi-carbonic maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels on the lees for 8 months. Bottled with light filtration, no fining and no added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural orange wine made from one of our favourite grape varieties. Jean Pierre always manages to showcase the elegant and refined side of Muscat with restrained stone and tropical fruit notes alongside a tea-like element. Great aperitif! 

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. All of Jean-Pierre's wines are in very high demand but we particularly love his skin-contact cuvees which is a winemaking method rarely seen in Alsace.
