Winemaking: Organic Muscat grapes were picked by hand early and fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast after a period of skin contact. This was then blended with Riesling and Pinot Blanc direct press juice. Bottled before fermentation ended in order to produce a sparkling Pet Nat wine (Ancestral method). No filtration and just a touch of added sulphur on bottling.

This Wine: Wild and hazy, sparkling pet nat! The Muscat has seen some skin contact this year resulting in a golden-green coloured wine that now also includes Pinot Blanc and Riesling. Restrained aromatics and more of a herbaceous nature. Only 3,800 bottles produced.

Notes on the Winemaker: The Durrmann family make wine the village of Andlau on the slopes of Vosges mountains in Alsace. The vineyards have been organic since 1998 and sulphur free cuvees have been produced since 2007 after Yann (the son) took over running the winery.
