Winemaking: Organic grapes were harvested by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in a mixture of amphora and old barrels. Bottled with no fining or filtration and just a small amount of sulphur.
This Wine: Easy drinking Etna wine made from a blend of red and white grape varieties. Pronounced red cherry fruit with subtle spice and minerals. Best served chilled.
Notes on the Winemaker: Eric and Anna met in Tuscany before embarking on winemaking in Sicily. Eric is the managing director of Caves de Pyrene, one of the biggest natural wine importers in the UK. They started their winemaking project in 2010 and produce well priced Etna wines full of the unique character that this part of the world brings.
