Notes on the Winemaker: Thierry Puzelat is a local legend in his region of Touraine in the Loire Valley and his domain Clos du Tue-Boeuf has been organic since 1996. After meeting Marcel Lapierre in the early 90s, he was inspired to take the natural wine route and embarked on a journey to protect and promote rare, indigenous grape varieties around the village of Cheverny such as Romorantin and Menu Pineau. His daughters Zoe and Louise started taking over the reigns in recent years and have brought a new energy and drive to the project whilst respecting the foundations their father has put in the place. Each have contrasting skills and approaches that result in beautifully balanced and age-worthy wines. We visited in 2026 and felt honoured to step into a cellar with so much natural winemaking history.
