Winemaking: Organic Pineau d'Aunis grapes from 30 year old vines were hand harvested and spontaneously fermented in whole bunches with indigenous yeast. Aged in old oak barrels for 15 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural red wine from one of the masters of Pineau d'Aunis. This is balanced with fresh acidity, red berry fruit and the grape variety's classic pepper note. Light bodied but with some structure, this will age well but is also drinking wonderfully now. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean Pierre Robinot produces some of the most acclaimed and sought after natural wines in the world. He moved to the Loire valley early in the 21st century after running a wine bar in Paris and now produces red wines from Pineau d'Aunis and whites from Chenin Blanc. The energy in a Robinot bottle really must be experienced at some point in your life! Age-worthy and unique wines, for sure.
