Winemaking: Organic Pineau d'Aunis grapes from vines up to 100 years old were hand harvested and spontaneously fermented in whole bunches with indigenous yeast. Aged in old oak barrels for 15 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: One of Robinot's most iconic cuvées, this old vine Pineau d'Aunis is a light red wine full of intensity. Energetic acidity with a host of spicy notes such as cinnamon and clove alongside crushed raspberries, sour cherries and a mineral finish. Will keep getting better in bottle for a long time to come. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean Pierre Robinot produces some of the most acclaimed and sought after natural wines in the world. He moved to the Loire valley early in the 21st century after running a wine bar in Paris and now produces red wines from Pineau d'Aunis and whites from Chenin Blanc. The energy in a Robinot bottle really must be experienced at some point in your life! Age-worthy and unique wines, for sure.
