Winemaking: Organic Pinot Blanc grapes from a single plot were harvested by hand. 18 hour maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 1 year. Aged for 5 years in bottle. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural white wine with a medium body. This is from a special plot of Pinot Blanc vines which has an old chapel in the middle of the vineyard. The short maceration period brings a beautiful texture and subtle structure. An age worthy, mineral focussed wine that is best served with food. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Daniel and Jonas Brand hail from Bockenheim in the Pfalz region of Germany where they took over their family winery in 2014 to concentrate on producing natural wines. They showcase their ability to create very complex and high end wines made from Riesling alongside more simple and fun bottles such as their famous Wilder Satz field blend. All their cuvées are unique, alive and bursting with personality. Most of the wines feature a label with a sketch from the duo's grandmother which is a nice touch. We visited in 2018 to explore the vineyards and gain an understanding for this German winemaking region
