Vegan friendly wine 

Winemaking: Organic Pinot Gris grapes were harvested by hand and de-stemmed before fermentation in open top fermenter for 2 weeks with indigenous yeast. Aged in old Slovenian oak for 12 months. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Unique and complex skin contact wine made in tiny quantity (only 900 bottles produced). Every cuvée from Aci Urbajs ages wonderfully but this is also ready to drink now if you can't wait. Honeyed stone fruit flavours with delicate notes of herbs, tea and nuts. Very special.

Notes on the Winemaker: Aci Urbajs works just one hectare of vines near Ritnik hill in the east of Slovenia. He started using biodynamic methods in 1998 and grows small quantities of Kerner, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Blaufrankisch and Pinot Noir from which he produces profoundly complex and sophisticated wines that have reached cult status in certain circles.
