This Wine: All of Bencze's wines are seriously amazing but it was the Pinot that first made us fall in love. This is complex and earthy with bursts of red and black fruit and a herbal finish. All the hallmarks of this famous grape but with a reflection of Hungarian terroir. Light bodied but great intensity.
Notes on the Winemaker: István Bencze is a pioneer of natural winemaking in Hungary. His vineyards are situated on the Szent György hill, in Badacsony near Lake Balaton. He works meticulously in the vineyard, harvesting at multiple times in order the achieve the right balance in the final wine.
