Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir grapes were harvested by hand. Whole bunch direct press and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 9 months before being bottled with no fining, filtration and just a touch of sulphur. 

This Wine: As the name might suggest, this is a white wine made from red Pinot Noir grapes. The idea was to make a base wine to be re-fermented into a sparkling wine. But once the winemakers tasted, they were so happy with it, the plan changed. A still white wine was born. It's fresh but with bright citrus and mineral flavours alongside a hint of red fruit. Low in alcohol but doesn't feel unripe. A unique wine from Somerset!

Notes on the Winemaker: He produces wines under his own Mountain People label but now Dave Morris has teamed up with George Price to create the Cowboys Don't Have Curls natural wine project. The fruit comes from Mayland vineyard in Somerset (owned by George) and the wines we have tried are excellent, showing ripe and complex flavours despite being low in alcohol. Looking forward to what lies ahead!
