Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir grapes were hand harvested and were fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A special cuvée made by Alanna Lagamba. She picked Pinot Noir grapes from a second flowering on the vines late in the season and added to earlier harvested grapes. This process has brought increased concentration and complexity to the wine. Fruit forward but with a nice earthy finish.
Notes on the Winemaker: Marto Wein is the project of Marto Otto Wörner and Alanna Lagamba who make natural wine in the village of Flonheim. Marto took over his father's 7 hectares vines in 2017 which has now expanded to 10 hectares. The focus is on wines made from indigenous grape varieties that give a true reflection of the vintage.
