Winemaking: Organic grapes were harvested by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. The wine was bottled before fermentation was complete in order to trap fizz inside (ancestral winemaking - pet nat). No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Juicy and hazy Pet Nat made from a blend of both red and white grape varieties. The bright, red fruit is complemented by the aromatics from the Muscat to produce a fun sparkling wine with a wild edge.
Notes on the Winemaker: With a nearly 500 year old history of winemaking in Alsce, Beck-Hartweg is now led by 16 generation winemakers Mathilde and Florian. The 8 hectares of vines have been certified organic since 2011 and the wines are vibrant and expressive, never inhibited by any use of sulphur.
