Winemaking: Ploussard grapes from vineyards in organic conversion were hand harvested. Whole bunches were spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeast in old oak barrels where the wine was aged for a further 9 months. Bottled with no filtration or fining and a small amount of sulphur.
This Wine: From the home of the Ploussard grape variety, this is a light red wine with delicate red fruit and floral aromas. Top notch Jura wine and only 776 bottles produced. Will also age very well.
Notes on the Winemaker: Benjamin Benoit took over his family winery at the age of 23 after his the unexpected passing of his father. He is situated in the famous region of Pupillin where he also grew up. Traditional Jura grape varieties are used to produce wine in very small quantities.
