Winemaking: Organic Poulsard grapes from young vines were hand harvested. De-stemmed by hand and macerated for 7 days. Fermented with wild yeast. aged in old barrels for 2 years. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: We haven't tried our bottle yet but you can expect some of the classic notes of the variety (red fruit, delicate spice) with some darker touches.
Notes on the Winemaker: La Grand 476 is the project of Loire native Dimitri Vetois and Marion Valverde who hails from the Auvergne. They produce wine in some of Jura's most prized vineyard locations acriss the Château Chalon area. Horses are employed to work the land and farming is achieved through organic and biodynamic practices. Each plot of grapes in vinified separately to give authentic expressions of the various terroir of this special place.
