Procanico
Bianco Castagno 2022
Gazzetta
Grape Variety: Procanico
Producer: Gazzetta (Trish Nelson)
Region: Latera, Lazio, Italy
Wild Scale: 4/5
13.5% alcohol
Winemaking: Organic Procanico grapes grown on volcanic soils were harvested by hand before de-stemming. 4 weeks of skin contact. Fermentation with wild yeast in stainless steel. Aged for 2 years in Chestnut barrels. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural orange wine with a concentrated and deep character. You can expect flavours of dried apricots and other stone fruits with a mineral, smokey note running through the wine. A textured and savoury drop that is best served with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Trish Nelson hails from Australia and travelled the world before falling in love with natural wine. Her passion led her to work with some of Italy's biggest names before settling near one of her inspirations, Le Coste, on the shores of Lake Bolsena in Lazio. The volcanic soils along with the temperate microclimate make this a wonderful place for viticulture, something that can be experienced when you taste the Gazzetta wines.
