The Highbury Library book club, aka, Read Between The Wines takes place bi-monthly downstairs at the bar. 

Join Emily & Joanna as they bring you literary delights paired with their favourite natural wines. Alternatively, purchase the bundle and you will receive the RBTW guide so you can read along in the comfort of your own home!

This month we are reading May We Feed The King by Rebecca Perry The book club will take place on Thursday 24th AND Wednesday 30th September at 7:45pm

On the night, Joanna will give an introduction to the wines and why they have been matched to the book. You have the option to purchase them by the glass - a great excuse to try them both. THE BOOK:

Longlisted for the Man Booker Prize and Winner of the Waterstones Debut Prize this year - a big year so far for this book! Booksellers, authors, critics - have all shared so much love for this debut novel which was published early this year. 
This is historical fiction but also described as surreal and dreamlike by fellow authors. It follows the curator of a royal medieval palace, who becomes transfixed by the story of an obscure, long-forgotten King. 
The story is described as ‘a rich feast of images and ideas’ (Observer), ‘brimful of beguiling oddness, it delights in the smallest, most subtle historical details, while delving into the emotional truths nestled in the hearts of the lonely curator and the unambitious, forlorn king’ (Daily Mail). Fellow author Jessie Burton said ‘this book felt like something hidden come to life - what is real, and what is true, and in the middle of all that, what really matters?’. It sounds like a unique read and we are excited to discuss it with you all!
