Winemaking: Biodynamic Riesling grapes were harvested by hand and de-stemmed before direct press and fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel tanks. No fining or filtration. Small amount of sulphur on bottling.

This Wine: Natural white wine which represents the entry level for the Schmitt wine portfolio. Riesling grapes come from 3 different villages in the region and come together to create an easy drinking wine with stone and orchard fruit flavours with some delicate floral notes. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Daniel & Bianka run the DB Schmitt winery that was established in the late 18th century in the southern part of Rheinhessen. In the 10 years since they took over the reins they have achieved biodynamic certification with Demeter for their 17 hectares of vines. They learnt many techniques from famed Alsace producer Patrick Meyer and now produce natural wines with a minimal intervention approach.
