Riesling / Pinot Noir
R 2024
Faedesfa
Grape Variety: Riesling, Pinot Noir
Producer: Faedesfa (Alberto Buratti)
Region: Rovolon, Colli Euganei, Veneto, Italy
Wild Scale: 3/5
11.5% alcohol
Winemaking: Organic Riesling grapes were sourced from Alberto's uncle, Marco Buratti. Combined with his own Pinot Noir grapes and all underwent direct press. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 10 months. No filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Another unique wine from Faedesfa and like many of his other cuvées, this is a hard one to categorise! It pours a peachy orange colour but has not skin contact so it's sort of a red and white blend. Still, despite the crown cap. Subtle cherry and bitter orange with delicate, sweet spice. This is quite a precise, serious bottle with a very long finish.
Notes on the Winemaker: Alberto Buratti farms just over 3 hectares of vines in the Colli Euganei region of Veneto. He grew up around these vineyards when his Grandfather worked them but it wasn't until 2019 that he took the plunge to take over full time. Now he works with local and international grape varieties that he grows organically and doesn't add anything in the winemaking process.
