Winemaking: Organic Sauvignon Blanc and Menu Pineau grapes were harvested by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 9 months. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural white wine with a medium body. This is the second vintage of this cuvée. All the classic notes of Sauvignon Blanc are present but presented in a more refined way with subtle tropical (mango) and notes supported by a mineral character maybe provided by the Menu Pineau. Great balance and a pleasing texture. What a bargain.
Notes on the Winemaker: Arthur Peltier and Achille Ravineau are young winemakers situated close to Cheverny in Touraine. This is a natural wine hot spot in the Loire that was put on the map by the likes of Thierry Puzelat / Clos du Tue-Boeuf and Hervé Villemade, both of which provided training and guidance to Arthur and Achille. Now they are making affordable, expressive wines with a focus on local grape varieties including the rare Menu Pineau. One to watch!
