Grape Variety: Serprina, Trebbiano, Moscato Giallo, Chardonnay

Producer: Faedesfa (Alberto Buratti)

Region:  Rovolon, Colli Euganei, Veneto, Italy

Wild Scale: 4/5

Winemaking: Organic grapes from 80 year old vines were harvested by hand. Direct press into old barrels for fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged for 6 months before bottling with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: White wine with a bursting energy and acidity. Serprina is closely related to Glera, the grape used in Prosecco and this has a lot of the same green apple character along with lemon and a strong mineral finish. Very enjoyable.

Notes on the Winemaker: Alberto Buratti farms just over 3 hectares of vines in the Colli Euganei region of Veneto. He grew up around these vineyards when his Grandfather worked them but it wasn't until 2019 that he took the plunge to take over full time. Now he works with local and international grape varieties that he grows organically and doesn't add anything in the winemaking process.
