Jeandaugé

Producer: Domaine Jeandaugé (Sébastien Fezas)
Region: Gascony, Gers, South West France
Vegan friendly wine
Wild Scale: 4/5
12.5% alcohol
Winemaking: Organic / biodynamic Syrah grapes were a harvested by hand. Two weeks semi-carbonic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in cement vessels. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with a medium body that strikes a great balance of bright and dark elements. Black fruit, candied cherries, a sprinkling of herbs. None of the black olives you sometimes find with this variety, and more of a fruit forward expression. A subtle, wild edge brings freshness and complexity. Best served with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Domaine Jeandaugé is a fifth-generation Gascon estate in Courrensan run by Sébastien Fezas. Shifting away from historic bulk production, Sébastien transformed the 20 hectare property into a biodynamic, regenerative haven following a pivotal 2018 mildew outbreak. Working no-till with native cover crops, sheep grazing, and gentle pruning, he crafts low-intervention, zero-sulphur natural wines.
