Winemaking: Biodynamic Syrah grapes were a harvested by hand. De-stemmed before fermentation with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Seriously good Syrah from the winemaker's warmest plots on south facing slopes on steep terraces in the renowned region of Saint-Joseph, Northern Rhône. Full bodied but plenty of freshness retained from the acidity. Dark fruits and spices with a hint of smoke. No flavours of oak. Ages superbly if you have the patience.

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean Delobre makes elegant but powerful but elegant wines in the Saint Joseph region of Northern Rhône. The vineyards have been biodynamic since 1997 and within the winery, there is a hands-off approach with the aim being to let the quality of the fruit shine through in the finished wine. Now he is handing over to his daughter Aurore who will be the 4th generation to run the family farm. They both came to Highbury Library in February 2026 to present at one of our Wine Club evenings.
