This Wine: Rósza Petsovits is the name of Franz Weninger's grandmother. She was born in 1921 in Horitschon which was part of Hungary but later that same year became part of Austria. Franz has dedicated this wine "without borders" to his grandmother by using grapes from both nations that come together to create a dark, juicy rosé that is fruity but dry. Now with some age, it's tasting even better.
Notes on the Winemaker: Franz Weninger grew up in Burgenland, the region in East Austria that borders Hungary. He runs two wineries, one in each country using biodynamic techniques with a deep commitment to the environment. His wines offer outstanding value for such high quality.
