This Wine: A sought after cuvée from one of the masters of skin contact wine. This comes from very old vines (100 years+) of a Trebbiano clone grown near Montefalco. A concoction of ripe stone and tropical fruits on the palate with a complexity of honey, dried herbs and savoury spice. Decant and take your time over this special wine.
Notes on the Winemaker: Since the 1500s, the Bea family have been associated with the Umbrian town of Montefalco where they now farm 5 hectares of vines. Paolo Bea, now in his 70s, garnered a huge reputation for his vibrant and elegant wines and now oversees his sons Giampero and Giuseppe who take care of day to day operations. Biodynamic techniques are used on the estate that also includes animals and other fruits and vegetables and in the cellar, synthetics chemicals are avoided.
