Valpolicella blend
Monticelli Rosso 2022
Il Roccolo di Monticelli
Grape Variety: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Oseleta
Producer: Il Roccolo di Monticelli (Silvia Tezza)
Region: Vallata di Mazzane, Verona, Veneto, Italy
Wild Scale: 4/5
Winemaking: Organic red grapes were harvested by hand. 30 day infusion of the skins into the juice and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in tank and bottled 9 months later with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A natural red wine that is light in body with delicate aromas of white pepper and geranium alongside fresh red and black fruit. The high acidity brings lots of energy. For us the wine really resembles a Pineau d'Aunis from the Loire. Unique and delicious.
Notes on the Winemaker: Silvia Tezza is a young winemaker in Veneto who studied agricultural science before becoming a winemaker in the hills of Valleta di Mazzane near Verona. She avoids adding anything in the winemaking process.
