5 Sparkling Wines to Drink this Summer

5 Sparkling Wines to Drink this Summer

When it comes to drinking in the sun, it has to be Pet Nat. Low in alcohol with refreshing acidity, the perfect combo. With that in mind, here are five sparkling wines we recommend tasting this Summer.

Ham Street - Bacchus Pet Nat 2025

Lets kick off with a brand new wine from Ham Street down in Kent. A maceration of Bacchus in the Pet Nat style results in a tropical, yet mineral wine that is also low in alcohol. Perfect for a garden lunch.

Lamatta 2024

We have been pouring this blend of red and white grapes (is it a rosé or light red?) in the bar and it's been going down a storm. Davide Xodo makes natural wine in the Colli Berici hills near Vicenza and we love everything he makes but this recent arrival might be our favourite yet. Only 4 bottles left!

Landron Chartier - Naturlich 2022

After a recent trip to Loire where I visited Benoit (of Landron Chartier), I suddenly realised we haven't sold his iconic Natürlich Pet Nat for a while. I've corrected my mistake and now have this pinky, white sparkling wine back in stock. Made from a blend of Folle Blanche, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, this is easy drinking with crisp orchard fruit and a dash of raspberry lemonade.

Il Roccolo di Monticelli - Cinciallegra 2023

Now back to Veneto and to Silvia Tezza's outstanding Cinciallegra cuvée. A classy Pet Nat made from Trebbiano and Garganega grapes that see 24 hours of skin contact, it is delicately complex with notes of lemon, lime, subtle spice and minerals. Made in small quantities and we don't have much left at time of writing.

Claudio Plessi - Cavriulein 2022

It's not exactly Pet Nat but we can't get to the end of this list without mentioning a Lambrusco and who does it better than Claudio Plessi? Dark and complex with black fruit and savoury notes, this is on the sophisticated side of sparkling red wine and it partners very well with food.

Plenty to enjoy across the next heat wave

Happy drinking!
