Off The Map Wines from Xavier Hardy
We are pleased to receive two new cuvées from Xavier Hardy, also known as Les Terres Bleues.

You won't find the French commune of La Chapelle-Glain in an wine books and that's because the viticultural cops didn't allow grapes to be grown in this area which is 30km north of the Loire river and 55hm west of the city of Angers. But that didn't stop Xavier from campaigning to have the local laws changed as she recognised the potential of these blue schist soils. After help from other local winemakers, she finally had her way and in 2015 began producing outstanding, under the radar natural wines from varieties such as Grolleau, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. She achieved biodynamic certification in 2019 and doesn't use filtration or sulphur. Her cuvées show a remarkable purity and offer the chance to experience something off the beaten path.
We have just received two new wines from her from the 2024 vintage and they are tasting amazing...
Ma Garance Voyageuse 2024
If it's a juicy, chillable red you are after as we enter the glory of Spring, then look no further. If you are not familiar, Grolleau is an indigenous grape variety of the Loire and can express vibrant red berries with fresh acidity as it does here perfectly.
XH2 2024
If you are interested in something more refined and sophisticated then step this way. XH2 is an elegant expression of Pinot Noir with a lovely complexity of dark fruit, minerals and delicate herbal notes. It's light but concentrated, exactly how we like our Pinot.
